Fishing for King Mackerel is one of our Captains favorite chases. As well as a Florida fishing license we offer top of the line rods, reels, and tackle to aid you in your quest of the catch.

You'll be touring around on a 23ft Parker. This center console was originally built in 2019 and is powered by a 200 Yamaha engine, allowing you to cruise around the water up to 35 knots. It's got onboard fishfinder equipment and a live bait well to keep it nice and fresh for your fishing adventure. You'll use a variety of techniques such as bottom fishing, trolling, and jigging to catch native species like Amberjack, Snapper, Grouper, and Redfish. Fishing for King Mackerel is one of Captain Fred’s favorite chases though and he offers specialized charters for this activity.

You’ll start your trip on a comfy 25 Parker center console that runs on a 300 HP Yamaha engine and can accommodate up to 4 anglers. For navigation, the boat’s got modern GPS, fishfinder, as well as radio technology. The rest of the equipment includes a wireless trolling motor, snorkeling gear, livewell, and an ice-box!

Captain John grew up in Miami, Florida which is where he discovered his love for fishing and the outdoors. After being stationed in Panama City, Florida, he was able to build on his love for fishing and pursue it as his career. He is a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force and spent 6 years proudly serving this country. He is a USCG licensed and insured captain who has fished all the way from our local waters down to the Florida Keys. There is no off season for this Captain, as he spends all year long dedicating his time to improving his techniques. Captain John will personally see to it that your fishing trip will be as enjoyable as possible.

Enjoy a day on the water!. We will be bottom fishing and/or trolling in the Gulf of Mexico. Going after a variety of different species. Your Captain will go after what’s in season and what’s fun to catch.

My wife and I recently took a short fishing trip with Captain Tim…had a great experience! Highly recommend! We specifically asked to stay in the bay waters and Tim had no problem with our request. He was friendly and knowledgeable. The boat and equipment were top of the line. Tim is clearly experienced. April 7, 2023 Captain Fred is AWESOME! VERIFIED 6 Hour Trip on April 7, 2023 We highly recommend Captain Fred! Went out on a 6 hour trip with my 18 year-old son and his friend. Quickly fished for bait (Spanish Mackerel) in the bay and then headed to the gulf. We quickly caught some more bait (hard tails and squirrel fish) and then started hauling in Amberjack. A lot of them. Captain Fred put us on the fish! If they weren’t there, we quickly moved on. One of the many great things about Captain Fred is that he TEACHES how to fish. Even having the boys bait the hooks and release the fish from the hook. He’ll do it for you if you want, but he was all about us having the experience. Awesome guy. Fantastic trip!

My daughter, son-in-law, & I had a great time fishing! It was our first time on a fishing trip like this. My wife surprised us with the trip. Although the weather proved to be somewhat uncooperative, we were still able to catch some fish, including a Red Snapper, as well as some sharks (one rather large). However, we did not keep the sharks. Captain Tim is very personable & always assisting you to ensure you have a wonderful fishing experience. If the fish weren’t biting in one area, he would move to another. He also showed us where to get our fish cleaned & packaged. We highly recommend Captain Tim if you want a great fishing trip!

What an awesome day we had with Captain Fred!! My wife, daughter, son in law and myself booked with We’re on Charters. This was our first time fishing in the gulf and my wife’s first time fishing ever. Captain Fred was able to meet all of our skill levels. Things we liked: easy to book the trip, fast responses to our questions prior to the trip, we actually caught bait fish, we cast, caught and landed the fish with Captain Fred coaching us through it all. My son in law said this was the best experience he has had in over twenty charters he has been on!! We highly recommend Captain Fred and We’re on Charters!!
